Building a Legacy
MRS. INEZ CHRISENTERY

Inez Chrisentery was instrumental in helping to tear down racial barriers in the United Methodist Church System, as president of the Louisiana United Methodist Women B.
Elizabeth McGowan was president of the Louisiana United Methodist Women A at a time when the two Methodist groups were segregated. Mrs. Chrisentery and Mrs. McGowan worked in harmony to unite all Methodist Women into one organization.
Chrisentery Hall will face McGowan Hall which was built in honor of Mrs. McGowan, perpetually reminding us of the tremendous contributions of these two outstanding women.
A GREAT NEED
Presently, our girls, ages seven to 15, reside on the top floor of a wood frame building which was constructed in 1932. These girls are clearly in need of a strong, modern single story structure which will provide a functional and hospitable home, more suitable for the children we care for today.
The time has come to being the construction of a state-of-the-art building which will be named Chrisentery Hall.
THE SOLUTION
To meet this important need, we are now raising funds for the construction of a new girls building. This will be a single story structure, named in honor of Mrs. Inez Chrisentery.
Chrisentery Hall will be a spacious 7,400 sq. ft. facility, designed to be highly energy efficient and low maintenance, built to meet the most rigid of fire codes and will be handicap accessible.
Most importantly, it will be safe and inviting home for 12 young girls.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIVING
You can help to make our vision a reality for the children of MacDonell with a generous tax deductible donation. Your name or organization will be displayed with a permanent plaque for the following donations:
